Veterans Affairs

The Sioux County Veterans Affairs Commission meets at 1:00 p.m. on the third Monday of every month unless otherwise posted, the Veterans Affairs office. Meetings are open to the public. Agenda item requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the close of the business day prior to the date of the scheduled meeting allow for posting of the agenda in compliance with Iowa law.

The office of Sioux County Veterans Affairs is located across the street from the courthouse in Orange City. Located above ‘Community Health Partners’ (Public Health), on the second floor of the Sioux County Annex Building. There is an elevator available for those who are unable, or do not wish, to use the stairs.

Office hours will remain 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday- Friday*, although it will be closed at times for training, veteran outreach events, holidays, illness, etc.  As before, appointments are strongly recommended to ensure the Veterans Service Officer’s availability on a particular day, and that the proper amount of time can be scheduled to review your particular veterans’ benefits needs.

*Please note that because Public Health hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., anyone desiring to visit the VA office during county business hours before 9 a.m. or after 4 p.m. should call the office shortly before (or upon) arrival so that the VSO can meet them at the inside-entrance door to let them in.
