The Sioux County Veterans Affairs Commission meets at 1:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month unless otherwise posted, in the Veterans Affairs office at the courthouse. Meetings are open to the public. Agenda item requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the close of the business day prior to the date of the scheduled meeting which allows for posting of the agenda in compliance with Iowa law.

The Sioux County Veterans Affairs Office in partnership with Hy Vee hosted an Open House and breakfast for all Sioux County Veterans on Friday, Nov. 11th at the Terrace View event center. Congressman Steve King presented the Silver Star to the family of Herman VanderLaan who was killed in action in WWII. This is the 4th year the Veterans Affairs Commission has hosted an event honoring area veterans.
